The worker reprimand notice is part of the escalating discipline process you must use before terminating any worker. No one but the supervisor, the manager's supervisor and the Human resources department need to know the details. There are several ways to deal with gossip effectively in the workplace. There are many myths that could be discussed about handling problem employees but in truth they all boil down to the idea that firing a problem employee means an automatic settlement in a court of law. These should include violations like arriving to work drunk, using drugs or alcohol at work, physically fighting with another co-worker, theft, threats of violence to the manager or other co-workforce, or misrepresentation of themselves. o You have adequately detailed the business need. Not only does it lower your chance of a improper lay off suit, but it sends a message to your good employees you won't lay off them on a whim. Otherwise, you may fire the jobholder only to find yourself in the middle of a unlawful layoff litigation. This will reduce surprise and anger when the termination happens.
